Back to Work... My boys are still cute!

What's better than a face full of turkey sandwich? How about a face full of TheJonesPod Blog! And with that sad attempt at humor let's get into it. Last week was it for my paternity leave and I couldn't have asked for nicer weather. We were at the park at least twice a day and Jenny was feeling much better this week and was able to join us at the park most days (with Tigue of course). A quick shout-out and side note thank you to all the families and individuals from MissioDei that have provided us with meals these last two weeks. You have all been an amazing blessing to us and look for your Levi-funny pic thank you's in the near future (see above). Also, Tigue is doing very well and growing very fast. It looks like he's going to be MUCH more of a chunker than Levi was :)

(Levi isn't actually asleep; he's faking)
Jenny's rents came into town this Saturday and were a huge blessing. Food, relief, adult conversation, and another Elmo video for Levi. The image below is a RARE find; Levi typically doesn't want anyone near him when he's watching TV... I believe his Nani tried to tickle him and moving towards Papa was the furthest away from her he could get :)
After TWO WEEKS of the same park it was time for a change of scenery. There's another sweet park on the beach about five blocks away from us. Levi LOVED the new park!
Static-Head
Look at that view... nice.
Tigue (aka Munchy Moo) enjoying some R&R at the park in the sling
Our little cautious one is getting braver each day...
This is Jenny's idea of fun at the park... nerd.
(and very sweet)
The water was super cold but that didn't stop Levi from going right in. This was definitely one of those situations where as parents you literally are there to keep your kid from killing himself.
Another great view down lakeshore
Now I apologize for not getting any good apartment shots. We're unpacked but it's not quite how we want it yet, so stay tuned. However, Tigue is super cute so here he is!
The nickname Munchy Moo is a Jenny creation. Munchy - because he is always hungry. Moo - because (I think, Jenny is asleep and can't verify) it has the alliteration effect and ends in "oo" like Levi's nickname Boo Boo. And now Levi calls the pacifier a "munch" so the nickname works full circle!
Thanks again for checking in. We had a wonderful two weeks together as a family and the fact that I didn't want to go back to a job that I enjoy speaks to that. Thank you to all the visitors, callers, facebook commenters, letter writers, blog followers and prayers. Your presents, words, thoughts and time are much appreciated. Have a great week!

Headed Home!

That's right the tradition continues! TheJonesPod take-home sunglasses picture - I even drove all the way home to get Levi just for the picture... well, Jenny will say it was for the take home experience but we all know the truth. Anyways, we're headed home! Tigue has his awesome take home outfit on and he's relaxed and ready to go!
Aviator Gabriel Tigue
Steve and Carli AND Cayden visited us the first weekend we were home (this is our new living room). The dudes just watching the tube... most likely Elmo.
Yes, Tigue does the O-face too!
In order to make sure Levi still feels loved :)
I take him to the park a few times a day
(only 2 blocks from our new home).
My Sweet Big Boy
"Air-pane"
(Levi hears an airplane over head)
First bath at home!
Sarah and Chris visited this past week too!
Levi relaxed with Sarah after a visit to the park.
Back to the cutie new baby...
Mimi, Uncle Jim, and Aunt Jane visited as well.
It was great to have them.
Levi and I practiced writing...
Levi loves Thai food...
well, at least playing with chopsticks.
Levi practicing being a parent with a Peanut carrier
Just testing out the lights in his new pad
Well, I'm still getting use to including Tigue in the blog but here he is just chillin'. He had an amazing first two doctors' appt. By day 5 Tigue was heavier than his birth weight and was up another 11 oz in one week. He also is very alert, has good coloring (he was somewhat jaundiced at birth), and is an awesome eater!
He's also pretty cute when he sleeps.
Thanks again for checking in and after almost two weeks I would say we're settling into our new home with our new addition quite well. We love our new neighborhood, new home, and Tigue, of course! Have a great rest of the week and I'll make sure to post more Tigue and new home pictures next week.

Day 2 - Little Tigue Guy

Mama and baby are recovering well. For those of you that are not friends with us on facebook or who do not have facebook here's a run down on yesterday. Jenny's water broke at about 3am Wednesday morning. Things were moving pretty slow and the doctor was fine with us coming in later that morning (need to have baby today to really lessen the chance of infection). We got Levi up around 6:30, got him fed and took him to our amazing friends the Dalachs. We got the hospital around 8:30am and Jenny really wasn't progressing as we got closer and closer to noon. At noon they started her on pitocin, by 1pm she was in VERY active labor, she was at 10 cm by 2:15pm and Gabriel Tigue was born at 2:30pm exactly! It was super fast!
We are so in love with our new little boy! He is so precious and super chill. And FYI - Our older little boy is loving time with Nani and Papa back at our apartment.
Thank you to all the visitors today (Annie, the Dalachs, and Christina); it was wonderful to see you and share our little man with you. We'll be checking out tomorrow late morning/early afternoon and I'll get the next two weeks off to be with my pod!
Have a wonderful rest of the week all and give us a call if you'd like to visit! God bless and once again thank you to all that were praying for a safe and easy delivery, a health little boy, and for Jenny not to get sick; God provided, AMEN! Well that's enough exclamation marks from this excited father. Good night!

Gabriel Tigue Jones is here!

Welcome to the world Gabriel Tigue Jones! He was born at 2:30 pm today and weighs 7 lbs. 3 oz. and is 19" long. He and Mama are recovering well and I'll post the whole story tomorrow! Also, FYI Tigue is pronounced "Ty" and is the Gaelic spelling. It is also a family name on Jenny's Dad's side.
We had lots of visitors today including Nani, Papa, Grandma and Grandpa Jones, Auntie Kylie, Auntie Mykalanne, Great Uncle Ed and Aunt Marty, and Matt and Lauren Gamache... and oh yeah BIG BROTHER LEVI!
I could not have pictured a better first meeting.
Levi is in love!"I love my bwudder!"
Thanks all for your prayers, thoughts, and love!
More updates to come tomorrow.
Good night!
