My Baby is a Pimply Teenager!

Sorry for the two week delay. Jenny, Levi, and I moved last weekend, and Jenny and Levi were in Michigan with the Dwyer extended family all last week. Soooo, long story short, there were distractions. Any ways, Jenny and Levi are back home and I couldn't be happier. Here's some pics from their week of fun!

Additionally, in case it wasn't clear, Levi's baby hormones are a ragin'! I think he needs Proactiv... I don't think I can use it on him.

Other than that, we've just been enjoying being a family and watching Levi grow (like crazy!). And we love to give him baths!

Well, that's about all. Have a good week and take comfort in knowing that your weekly Levi updates are back on!

Ode to Diaper Duty

Today I'd like to give a lil' shout out to all the mommies and daddies out there who have ever dealt with the intricacies of a male diaper change. Cumulatively, Casey and I have been marked as Levi's territory nearly a dozen times, but today's spray was a bit more turbid in nature...

The Culprit:

The Crime:

Ahh!! Poo everywhere!! (I know it's gross, but I thought it was funny enough to merit a posting.) I've been using pee-pee tee-pees to solve the front half of the equation, but how do you deal with THIS?! ;) I typically wait 20 minutes from the time I hear any of Levi's southern rumblings to change him in order to avoid this situation, but I think Levi might be onto my tactics! Today is an especially interesting day for this to occur as our landlord is having a sprinkler system installed, thus making it necessary for the workers to shut off our water...SICK.

And poor changing pad cover! I think it's already been washed about 4 times. Honestly, I don't even know why I bother using it anymore; it seems like every time I wash it and put it back on it's dirty again within a mere 3 diaper changes. Oh well, 'tis the joy of being a mother I suppose :) On the up side, Levi's plumming is working splendidly! No problems there...

I wish you all a slightly less crap-filled afternoon, and I'll be sure to post any other (albeit less disgusting) updates! ~*Jenny

My Baby is a Fatty

Welcome to the three week check-in. Levi is an absolute joy and I think he's replaced me as Jenny's number one man (sorta...).

Now, let the record show that I'm not bitter about Levi's relationship with Jenny, but it was worth noting, mostly because it has been fun watching Jenny go from a dancing, education focused, research maniac to a loving, borderline obsessed mother.

Now back to Levi... Levi weighed in at 7 lbs. 9 oz. at his two week checkup, which he "passed" with flying colors! That's a 16+% weight increase in just over a week and a half. In case you can't tell, I'm very proud of my little weight gainer. I would guess that he's now just over 8 lbs. For those of you that are not parents, it's a big deal that your baby is gaining a healthy amount of weight.

And once again Levi was visited by a number of loving, wonderful people this week. Including his youngest visitor yet. Our friend Brittany (due in September) and her beautiful daughter, Grace, came to visit Jenny and Levi this week and prepared us a wonderful dinner (Thank you Brittany!). Also, our friends Lindsey and Megan came to visit this past weekend, as well as, Chris and Sarah, who made a quick trip out on Sunday, which was a fantastic surprise!

And another great surprise was his present from Jenny's friend Beth, a hand-knit blanket (thank you!), which matched our home color palette quite nicely.

Also, Levi had a lot of firsts this week (shocking, I know...), he made his first visit to Navy Pier, via the EL (Chicago's train lines) and trolley. He had his first bath; I think he liked it. And he had his first alone time with daddy, while Y.E. Yang made history beating Tiger for the PGA Championship, crazy!

Well, thanks again for stopping by and we look forward to seeing a lot of you Wisconsinites this weekend at my parents' house! ~Casey

It's tough to be 2... weeks old!

I look forward to the day when I can tell everyone how awesome my son is and how he's the most talented child alive, but currently his skill set is very limited. However, I will say that Levi poops and sleeps like a champ! And anyone that wants to dispute that can come visit and judge for themselves.

The only exciting thing to note from the last week is that Jenny and I survived our first week of being full time parents! Jenny isn't a big fan of being a mom from about 1:00 am to 7:00 am, but I try to help when I can. For all you parents out there this may sound all too familiar, but being up since 4:00 this morning is definitely not one of the highlights of fatherhood. Personally, I think Levi was just excited to start celebrating being 2 weeks old today! (I thought we should enjoy a beer together to celebrate!)

During the last week Levi and mommy pretty much had a ton of free time to themselves, considering I worked about 60 hours last week to play catch-up. However this weekend he got to be busy and meet uncle Drew (Jenny's brother), Mimi (Jenny's grandmother; John's mom), aunt Jane (John's sister), and uncle Jim (John's brother). He got to visit lots of fancy restaurants and even chillax at the Four Seasons, too.

All in all, Levi is a very well behaved baby. He sleeps regularly and is very easy to comfort. He eats a lot and is looking a little chunkier! Today marks his 2 weeks of being ex-vivo and shockingly enough his closest relatives made another visit. (Thanks for dinner Ed and Marty!) They have a commanding lead on Levi visits and if I'm not mistaken, I think I heard Levi call Aunt Martha Gigi tonight (just kidding mom...). Also, thanks for all those that have visited Levi so far and be assured that we love the company.

Well, I'll just post some more pictures and a funny little video and call it a night. Have a wonderful evening all and thanks for taking an interest in our little family! ~Casey

P.S. I think he's getting sick of the camera in his face... :)
